As a hydrologist, my interests are naturally interdisciplinary. The bulk of my research has been toward improving our understanding of atmospheric transport of pollutants into the Arctic. My research examines the connections between the global hydrologic cycle and nutrient/pollutant/aerosol transport.  More specifically, I am interested in the role of aerosols in the cryosphere. I investigate these interactions through the application of measurements and modeling, using both ice core data from Greenland, measurement data from various Arctic observatories, and the transport model FLEXPART. With these tools, the focus is on unraveling measured variability and attributing it to physical components in the Earth System. I started here in the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Research (ATMOS) at NILU in January 2007 after receiving a Fellowship through the Leif Eirikkson Mobility Programme
